Our Sunday school campaign this spring was "The Empty Tomb." I was surprised to find out that here in Cincinnati there was a man that actually built a replica of Jesus' tomb not too far from where we live. As a reward to the kids who were faithful, the church took them to visit the tomb. It was in the middle of nowhere, but overlooked Cincinnati. The view was amazing. And the tomb was incredible.
A friend of mine and fellow homeschool mom invited us to join them on a study of owls. The kids did lapbooks and dissected owl pellets. Then they proceeded to make skeletons from the bones founded in their owl pellets. The boys loved it....mom...not so much. I was very content watching all the younger kids while Wendy helped with the owl pellets.
I love that spring is here...well, except for the horrendous allergies that I've been experiencing. However, allergies are a small price to pay to see God's beauty through the green trees and beautiful flowers coming up everywhere. And of course, the weather is an added bonus. Going outside is so nice. We've been doing it as much as we can. Baseball, sidewalk chalk, bug hunting, bikes, and bubbles are happening all the time around here.
I don't remember if I went to the store or what, but one day when I got home, I found this on Makenna. Guess who had helped her get dressed?? Yup, DADDY!! Apparently he let her pick out what she wanted to wear. Lovely, huh? Too bad she forgot to put her little pink shirt on under her jumper shirt. Crazy little girl!
Eric's parents came for a visit Easter weekend. We took them to the zoo and Montgomery Inn on Saturday.
Sunday was Easter. I'll post more pictures of that later, and Monday we all went to Mammoth Caves. Was that a cool place or what?
After Mammoth caves, we went to a place where they had a giant slide, bumper cars, and go carts. Luke and Blake did the giant slide with us. And then everyone did the go carts. The younger kids rode with mom or dad, but Blake and Luke got to drive one. Since I was driving, I didn't get pictures of them, but Grandma Alma did.
No I haven't fallen off the face of this world, just off of the bloggy world. I'm trying to climb back on though. Been a little busy lately with school and stuff. I do have lots of stuff to blog, so I'm planning on getting a few posts up this week. I haven't disappeared for those faithful few that still read it. I leave you with this one pic to make you all smile.
