School Room

The schoolroom is up and running!!! Who-hoo! Eric built us a wall to seperate the yucky side of the basement from the schoolroom side of the basement. Eventually we'll have flooring and a ceiling, but for now....it works. It's soooo nice. We even have an art table. What's great is that Makenna and Kaleb can play in the playroom downstairs while we're doing school. I need to set up Klaire's playpen down here still, but it's so nice to have a place dedicated to school. We thought the wall was going to make the space seem smaller, but it really doesn't. In fact, it does the opposite.

Here's the view when you first get downstairs.

Here's the desks set up. They are all facing different directions in hopes to minimize talking and wasting time. (And I have no idea what's wrong with Makenna's face in this picture. It's a little freaky, huh?)

Entering the basement door. See the playroom to the right of the stairs....not to mention my scrapbook room next to it.

a little art shelf with some building toys and markers on it.

The new art area - Eric just put up the shelves last weekend, and my old scrapbook table fits perfectly in the space.

Another view of the room. Have I ever mentioned how much I love my friend Mindy for giving me the island/desk in our schoolroom! It's so awesome.

  2. I would love, love, LOVE to have a designated school space. If it weren't for the fact that Anthony works from home and downstairs is his office set-up, I would totally re-work the space downstairs as a school area. There is no way we could do school down there with all those conference calls.
