sharonwoods

We went to SharonWoods probably close to a month ago, and I'm finally getting around to posting pics of it. The kids like the park areas, but to be able to play in the waterfall area is even better. We had a lot of rain, so they were higher than normal, and I was a little overparonoid since I was trying to keep my eyes on all six kids at once.

Playing

Pulled out an old toy, but to Klaire it was new. And to Makenna you would have thought it was new by the way she was all over it! Cute, huh?

How much did I pay?

I got all of this stuff for $6.50!!!! Talk about a deal, huh??

Going to Michigan

We're leaving today for Michigan. Blake and Luke have been at their grandparent's for almost 2 1/2 weeks, We're going up there to pick them up, stay for the family reunion, and then leave the younger boys for about a week. We'll get home Sunday night, and Blake and Luke will be going to camp on Monday morning. The girls will be the only ones home next week. How crazy is that? I'll only have TWO kids next week!! What will I do with myself??

Garage Sale

I went to this incredible garage sale when my in-laws were here. Anyone want to guess how much I got all this stuff for? The lady was practically giving stuff away! That one octagonal box in the back holds snowman ball ornaments. The two big snowmen had never been out of the boxes. There is a Hallmark Keepsake ornament there in the pile, and there is a dressed build-a-bear there too. (You guys know how much I like Build-A-Bear!) Not to mention the never opened craft sets. Okay, come on...guess...guess... I'll tell you guys tomorrow how much I paid.

swimming

When Eric's parents were here, we went to their hotel and swam in their pool. What a great time!

Guess who Eric is DUNKING!!! You might be able to see my blue nail polish!

For the first time ever, Makenna loved the swimming pool. In fact, she got to the point where she wouldn't let us help her anymore. She would sit in her little float with too-big floaties on her arms, and just kick and move around the pool.

Make-up and Dress-up

The other night all the church ladies were getting together to play some games and eat some food. Those, of course, are two of my favorite pastimes. I told the boys that I was going out that night. The boys of course wanted to go, so I told them it was only going to be girls there. Kaleb asked what we were going to be doing, and Jakeb answered, "They're going to be putting on makeup and stuff." I jokingly agreed.

A couple hours later Kaleb came up to me and asked me, "Mom, when you put makeup on each other and stuff, are you going to dress up in princess dresses?"
Is that kid cute or what?

Fourth of July

Better late than never they always say..right? Fourth of July was a hit this year. I think it was the first time it hadn't rained in about four years. Eric's fireworks were fantastic this year. I think they were his best yet. Since Independence Day was on a Sunday, we didn't have our big cookout because the church was having a social. But everyone was invited over to our house afterwards for the fireworks. We had quite a turnout. Eric seriously outdid himself this year. He had some sort of switch mechanism lighting the fireworks this year so he didn't have to run around lighting them himself. He also had music going on this year. It was great! I didn't get a lot of pictures of the actual fireworks because I was taking a video of the whole thing this year, but I did get some sparkler pictures and stuff like that.

These were one of my favorites this year because they criss-crossed in the sky.

lil' cutie

Need I say more??

Balloon Festival

There was a balloon fest up in Middletown. Apparently they do it every year. We tried it out this year, and came to the conclusion that it was pretty cool. To see the balloons up close is amazing!

Here's some rides the kids (and mom) did.

I convinced Kaleb to ride Zero Gravity with me. We held hands the entire time, but he liked it.

Inside the balloon - How cool is this? They let you walk inside one of the balloons.

Then they let the children flatten the balloon. I think they were calling it a balloon stomp. The kids loved it. Jakeb was all over it. (Kaleb has the white shirt on, and Jakeb the green one.)

Great Grandma's b-day

My grandma turned 96 this past Wednesday. We went up there to give her some flowers and a balloon. When we got there we found out that she had been at the hospital because she had fallen and hit her head, and they were concerned. She tried to tell them that she was fine, but they wouldn't listen to her. (Please note that the facility did call and leave me a message, but I hadn't been home all day, so I didn't get it. They were on top of it.) So bless her heart, she was stuck in the hospital for part of her birthday. She said they checked her for everything. She actually used some terminology that I didn't approve. Let's just say that they checked her from backside all the way up to her head. Anyways, when she got back to her facility, they had a awesome hat waiting for her. Happy Birthday, Grandma!

This 94 year old man, asked Grandma is she wanted a birthday kiss. Of course, my spunky grandma said yes. He then asked if she wanted a kiss on the lips or cheek, and then he didn't even wait for a reply. The lips it was!!!!

The pretty flowers.
