day one & two

We left on Friday night at about 8:00, and started the drive to Orlando, Florida. Oh, wait, did I say started the drive? That actually sound like we stopped and stayed in a hotel or something around midnight because who in the world would actually drive all night long with six kids in the car, one being a newborn? That would be C-R-A-Z-Y! And......crazy would be us, or should I say Eric. We drove all night. I actually dozed off for a few minutes here and there, but who really sleeps well in a car. And, Eric? He did great. He drove till 4:00. Right about then we pulled over at a rest area for him to take a nap that lasted about an hour or so. (Like how I say we? Poor Eric did all the work.) We ended up getting there at about 1:00 the next day. We stopped for lunch at the biggest McDonald's ever. Who-pee! None of us were that impressed. After filling our bellies, it was off to our resort where we were pleasantly surprised by how much room we had. It was awesome, two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a full kitchen, washer and dryer not to mention to water park areas including a slide, a putt-putt area, and a whole game room. Upon arriving, we all took naps, and of course, I couldn't sleep. Instead I went to Walmart to fill up the fridge while we were there. When I arrived back our friend George was there. George came to stay with us from Saturday till Tuesday. He was an experienced Orlandian although now he lives in Texas. That night we went to check out the pools, but I didn't take pictures that time.

The next morning we woke up bright and early for church. We were going to a friend's church. Kristy and I and I went to school together from elementary all the way through college. It was great seeing her. I can't believe I forgot to get a picture. After church and lunch with Kristy and her husband, we were off to find a double stroller. Ours didn't fit in the SUV, so we were stuck buying one down in Orlando. Our original plan was to use it and return it (more about that later). Bad, I know, but a family has to do what family has to do. Here's my stroller I picked out.Man, did it steer like a charm. This was by far the best stroller I've ever used. And yes, Klaire did get a chance to get in there too, but most of the time I carried her in the pouch. That night we went to Planet Hollywood. We had a $140 gift certificate there. Can I just say....YUMMY!!! Not to mention the fact there is movie memorabilia all over.
The kids got excited when they saw Wizard of Oz stuff there.
Blake took one look at Arnold and said, "Isn't he the governor of California now?" Totally made me laugh.
There was also a Lego store there where they had tons of stuff built from Legos. There was also a place where the kids could build there own lego stuff too. And that, my friends, wraps up day one and day two.
